Stayz
is giving you the chance to bid on 50
getaways at a range of great holiday
rentals around the country. Each day a new getaway will go up for auction with
100% of winning bids being donated to our charity partners, CanTeen and the RSPCA.
Only one getaway will be up for
auction each day, and each auction is live for 24 hours. The minimum opening
bid for each auction is $50 and following bids must be made in increments of at
least $10. (Bids are displayed in Australian dollars, including GST.)
After placing a bid, we will let you know by email if you’ve been outbid or if you’re the highest bid at the end of the auction. You can track your bids by clicking on ‘My Bids’ in the head of any page after logging in.
At the end of the auction, all funds raised will be collected and split equally between our charity partners, CanTeen and the RSPCA.
This payment is not tax deductible. Although the funds will go to our charity partners, the payment is classified as a purchase of accommodation.
After you make a payment for your getaway you will receive a confirmation email with a receipt. This will act as your receipt of payment.
After paying for your getaway, you will receive a confirmation email with the contact details for booking your holiday. It is up to you to contact the property owner to book your getaway. Getaways are valid for 12 months from the date of payment.
All getaways are subject to exclusion periods - please refer to Property Terms on each auction page. Some properties may request a security bond at the time of booking. This amount is refundable and in addition to your bid payment. You have 1 year to book and redeem your holiday. For further information, please
read the full terms and conditions.
Payment must be made within 72 hours. If we do not receive payment or communication from you within this time, the item will be offered to the next highest bidder.
From the auction page, click on ‘View on Stayz website’ and check out the availability calendar. This should be used as a guide only. It’s best to confirm availability with the property owner directly. We recommend bidding with a few travel dates in mind.'
Payments by credit card (Visa and Mastercard only) and direct deposit are both accepted. Your confirmation email will contain payment instructions. Please refer to the
Bidder Terms & Conditions for transaction fees.
If you are the highest bidder at the end of the auction, you will receive an email confirming that you have won the item. You can then follow the links to pay for and confirm your getaway.
Under ‘My Bids>Current Bids’ in the header of any page and under ‘Bid History’ on the auction listing you can check to see who the highest bidder is - see “X bids...”. This will show the registered name of the current highest bidder. If this shows your username, then you are in the lead. If this shows another user’s name, you might want to place a higher bid.
Once a bid has been placed it cannot be changed or cancelled. You can place a higher bid that supersedes your original bid amount. By placing a bid, you are agreeing that this is the amount you will pay if you are the highest bidder when the auction ends, and you are required to pay the amount in accordance with the
terms and conditions.
If you are outbid, you must submit a new bid to remain in the auction for that item. Your new bid must be at least $10 more than the current leading bid. You can also use our ‘maximum bid’ function. Simply enter your maximum bit for the auction and we’ll keep bidding for you if you’re outbid.
